How to Draw a Great Looking Cobra for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the cartoon cobra outline by drawing the serpent's face. Use curved lines to outline the open mouth, eye ridge, and teardrop-shaped eye. Draw two curved lines across the eye - one for the pupil and one to mark the corner of the eye. Shade the eye's corner. Draw dots to indicate the snake's nostrils.

2. Outline the lower jaw using a long curved line. Connect the upper and lower jaws with curved lines on each side. Then, draw the fangs - long, narrow, curved triangles on the top and short ones on the bottom.

3. Extend long curved lines from each side of the snake's head, forming the hood. Draw a curved line parallel to the edge of the hood on one side. From inside the mouth, extend a pair of curved lines. Connect them on the end with a "V" shaped line, forming the forked tongue.

4. Draw a long curved line from the head, forming the top of the snake's hood and the side of its body. Enclose an oval on one side of the hood and a partial oval on the other.

5. Draw two curved lines below the snake's head, one ending at the bottom of the hood and the other outlining the bulk of its body.

6. Draw a "C" shaped line on one side of the snake's neck, a short line in it contouring the coil. Then extend two curved lines from the snake's back, and allow them to meet at a point - the tip of the tail.

7. Band the front of the neck with curved lines. Then, draw wavy lines to indicate the separation of the back and belly.
