2. Erase the top of the circle. In the space created, draw the erect ears using several overlapping curved lines. Outline the side of the far ear using a backward "L" shaped line. Then, detail the inside of both ears using wavy, curved lines.

3. Erase one side of the circle. In the space created, use a long, curved line that doubles back upon itself to form the snout. Draw a curved line across the snout to separate the upper and lower jaw. At the tip of the snout, draw a circle to indicate the nose. Draw a curved line across the top of the circle and shade beneath it. Use two curved lines to outline each eye. Draw several successively smaller circles within each eye, and shade between the two smallest to indicate the pupil.

Learn More About The Coyote Drawing

The coyote, also known as the prairie or brush wolf, is a member of the dog family native to North and Central America. Coyotes resemble wolves but are smaller in size.

Coyotes are known for cunning and swiftness. They may live alone or hunt in packs of up to dozens of individuals. Coyotes eat fruit and berries when food is scarce.

In Native American mythology, Coyote was both a creator and trickster. It gave humans fire, daylight, and the arts.

Coyotes appear in popular culture less often than wolves and other canines. Perhaps the most well-known example is the Looney Tunes' Wile E. Coyote.

A number of Wile E.'s relatives and pupils also made appearances, including Cage E. Coyote, Calamity Coyote, the Coyote Kid, and Tech E. Coyote.

Other examples include Antoine D'Coolette from Sonic the Hedgehog, Bent-Tail the Coyote and Bent-Tail Junior from several older Disney shorts, and Dag the Coyote from Barnyard.
