How to Draw a Laboratory

1. Begin by drawing the lab table. Enclose a narrow horizontal rectangle near the bottom of your picture. This is the tabletop. Then, extend two sets of straight lines below it to form the legs.

2. Begin by drawing the microscope, an essential piece of laboratory equipment. Enclose the base of the microscope with a curved line.

Above it, enclose a narrow rectangle and band it with a short line. Draw two curved lines upward from the base, one passing behind the rectangle. Draw a small oval at the top of one line.

3. Complete the microscope. Draw an oval with three small cylinders extending from it.

Use overlapping curved lines to enclose the next segment, followed by a pair of curved lines, a rectangle, and another pair of connected curved lines.

4. Draw a set of test tubes in a stand. First, enclose a rectangle within a rectangle. Connect them at the corners with short lines.

Enclose the bottoms of the test tubes using "U" shaped lines, connected at the top with a straight line.

Above the stand, enclose three small rectangles with rounded corners. Draw a small oval at the top of each, and band them with curved lines.

5. Next, draw a volumetric flask suspended over a Bunsen burner. For the flask, draw a partial circle with a rectangular shape at its top.

Notice how the top of the rectangle is curved and wider than the rest of the shape. Draw a short curved line at its lip. Enclose a rounded square above it to form the cork.

Then, draw the Bunsen burner. Use a curved line to enclose a small half circle on the table. Draw a small rectangle above it, followed by another half-circle.

Then, use curved lines that meet at jagged points to draw the flame.

6. Draw the stand holding the flask. Draw a curved line across the bottom of the flask, and four straight lines from the flask to the table. Then, draw the fluid in the flask. Start with a series of curved lines.

Then draw small circles above them.

7. Draw another flask. Outline the wide base and narrow neck using curved lines. Connect them at the top with a pair of curved lines, and draw a rounded rectangle for the stopper.

Then, outline the fluid by drawing a curved line across the flask.

8. Draw another flask on a tall stand. Outline the flask using a circle, with two rounded rectangles for the neck and stopper.

Then, draw the stand. Draw a curved line across the flask and along the tabletop. Connect them using three straight lines.

9. Connect the flasks with a coil of tubing. Draw the coil using two parallel, spiral-shaped curved lines. Then, draw a wavy line across the remaining flask to indicate the liquid inside.
