How to Draw a Great Looking Poke Ball for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin by drawing a circle to outline the basic shape of the Poké Ball.

2. Draw a curved line across the center of the Poké Ball. This begins to outline the Ball's central band.

3. Draw a second line around the middle of the Ball, parallel to the first.

4. Detail the band encircling the Poké Ball. Draw a short, curved line across each end of the band, parallel to the side of the Ball. On one side of the band, draw two small ovals.

5. Erase a portion of the original circle at each end of the band. This gives the Poké Ball's band an inset, three-dimensional appearance.

6. Draw a circle overlapping the central band, positioned to one side of the Poké Ball. This forms the region of the Poké Ball's button.

7. Erase all guide lines from within the small circle.

8. Within the small circle, draw a series of three additional, smaller circles. Notice that the two smallest circles, forming the button itself, are positioned more closely than are the other circles.

10. Color your Poké Ball. Standard Poké Balls are red on top and white on the bottom, with a white button and a black band. Other types of Poké Balls come in a wide range of colors, including green, orange, and blue.

Generally, a trainer must first weaken a wild Pokémon by battling with it prior to capturing it in a Poké Ball. Up to six Pokémon can be carried by a trainer; their Poké Balls are usually clipped to his or her belt.
