How to Draw a Great Looking Eagle for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the eagle outline by sketching the head. Use curved lines to draw the double-pointed beak, noting the overlapping lines that differentiate the upper and lower portions of the beak.

Outline the shape of the eye, then enclose successively smaller circles within it. Shade the smallest to indicate the pupil.

Then, extend curved lines from the beak to outline the head. Connect them with a series of short lines that meet at jagged points.

2. From the base of the head, extend a long curved line. This outlines the top of one wing. Double the line back on itself to form the first of the large flight feathers.

3. Draw a series of connected “U” shaped lines at the base of the flight feather. Then, use long “U” shaped lines to draw two more flight feathers.

4. Draw more flight feathers. Then, draw another series of connected curved lines in the middle of the wing.

5. Use a series of overlapping curved lines to enclose more flight feathers along the trailing edge of the wing.

6. Extend long curved lines from the back of the wing and the base of the neck. Connect them with a series of small, connected “U” shaped lines.

This outlines the bird’s body and tail. Add a feathered texture to the wing and chest by drawing small “U” shaped lines.

7. Extend a long curved line from the top of the head to trace the leading edge of the remaining wing. Double the line back itself at the end.

Then, draw a series of connected “U” shaped lines from the side of the wing.

8. Use overlapping curved lines to draw the flight feathers, and a series of connected “U” shaped lines to add more feathers to the wings.
