1. Begin by contouring the face with curved lines. Notice the separate line forming the chin, the lines of the cheeks, and the inset near the eyes.

2. Use a curved line to outline the lumpy shape of the ear. Then, use a series of connected, curved lines that meet at jagged points to connect the ear to the opposite side of the head, indicating the hairline.

3. Use a curved line to enclose the remaining ear. Use curved lines to detail the inner curves of each ear.
