"I laugh in the face of danger, ha ha ha ha ha!"
- Simba, The Lion King (1994)

Simba is a lion prince, the heir of the Pridelands. A childhood tragedy, however, forces him to run away from all he's ever known. It is only when his childhood friend, Nala, journeys to find him that Simba returns to right the wrongs and reclaim his kingdom.

Did you know? Simba's name means "lion" in the Swahili language. The story of The Lion King drew from many sources, including the biblical stories of Joseph and Moses, William Shakespeare's Hamlet, and the Japanese anime Kimba the White Lion.
