Outline sides of stairs, connect 6 straight lines to form irregular shape resembling open book.
Create a smaller version of the irregular shape inside the first, using six straight lines.
Draw the steps of the staircase by connecting parallel lines within the smaller figure in a zigzag pattern.
Continue to draw straight parallel lines. Connect them on the end using short lines, extending the zigzag pattern.
Draw the next step on the staircase using two parallel straight lines. Connect them on the end using short lines.
Draw another step, again using straight parallel lines. Continue the zigzag pattern to connect them using short lines.
Extend parallel lines, join the ends with short lines to complete the staircase.
Now it is time to shade your staircase to give it a three-dimensional appearance. Shade the wall to the left of the steps.
Draw narrow, varying lines from the right side of steps to show shadow and mark wall corners with short lines.
