Draw a smiling mouth with short curved lines and oval eyes, and contour the cheeks.

Draw the shape of the axolotl's face with a long curved line for the head and cheek, and curved lines for the external gills.

Draw the gills by creating wavy curved lines on the opposite side of the head, using a pair for each.

Outline the body with a long curved line extending above and below the head, while drawing the gill filaments with wavy lines.

Draw curved lines for foreleg, "U" shapes for fingers, extend belly, and start rear leg with curves.

Curve and enclose the tail and toes with short and long lines, overlapping the animal's back.

Contour the side of the body with curved lines. Then, use curved lines to draw the remaining foreleg.

Enclose the rear foot and create two long, converging lines down the center of the tail.
