how to draw a Cardinal Bird step-by-step

Begin by drawing a circle. This will outline the bird's head.

Beneath the head, draw an oval, tilted to the side. This forms the bird's body.

Connect the head and body with a short, curved line and double a long, curved line to form the bird's wing.

From the bottom of the oval, draw a curved line in the shape of a "J" and connect it to the tail line for the bird's tail.

Erase guide lines as needed.

Draw a "U" shaped line at the base of the tail and use curved lines to form the bird's legs and toes.

Create detailed bird drawing using short, curved and jagged lines to represent feathers, beak and wings.

Again, erase guide lines as needed.

Add shading, curves for the beak, texture for the belly and tail, and a twig-shaped line for perching.
