how to draw a Cartoon Butterfly

Begin by drawing an oval for the butterfly's head, enclosing larger ovals for the eyes and sketching the thorax with jagged lines.

Using curved lines, outline the oval-shaped thorax and form the abdomen with a long curved line.

Make the butterfly's antennae, legs, and abdomen using curved and "L" shaped lines.

Sketch legs with double "L" lines, connecting with curved lines to form feet.

Continue drawing the butterfly's legs. Use "L" shaped lines for each leg, with curved lines at the top and to form the foot.

Using the same method as before, draw the last leg and delicately sketch the wing's wavy edge.

Draw the rear wing by extending a long curved line from the thorax and doubling it back with a wavy edge.

Add details to the wings. Use connected "U" shaped lines.

Add even more detail to the wings. Draw large teardrop shapes near the edges.
