Begin by drawing a circular shape. Note that it is not a perfect circle - it's elongated on one end. This forms the icy core of the comet.
Enclose a few irregular shapes of various sizes within the body of the comet. These texture the icy rock.
Draw a curved line around the front of the comet to show its halo and nucleus with jagged edges.
Draw jagged lines of varying lengths from one side of the coma to form the comet's tail.
Extend a series of curved lines from the other side of the coma, again bringing them together in sharp points.
Create a continuous line of arcs with sharp corners to fully enclose the comet's tail.
Use curved lines to outline a double-pointed shape on each side of the comet's tail.
Draw curved lines that intersect jaggedly to resemble fire within the comet's tail.
Place your comet in the night sky by drawing stars all around it. Use straight lines to enclose eight-pointed stars of various sizes.
