Learn how to draw a great looking Graduation Cap with easy, step-by-step drawing  instructions, and video tutorial.

Begin by drawing a rhombus, or a slanted square with sides of equal length. This outlines the top of the hat.

Draw parallel lines to the rhombus sides, connecting them to its three points for a 3D hat top.

Draw two diagonal lines descending from the hat's top midway of each side, diverging slightly outward.

Enclose the bottom portion of the hat using a long, curved line.

Draw a small oval in the hat's center, with a curved line parallel to it for a 3D effect. This represents the tassel's button.

Draw two curved parallel lines from the button to the hat's edge, dropping down, depicting the tassel's string.

Erase guide lines from the tassel.

Draw a circle at the tassel string's end followed by flattened ovals underneath to represent the tassel's top.

From the tassel's top, draw long lines connected by a zigzag pattern and textured with assorted lines.
