how to draw a Poppy step-by-step

Draw a small oval and add "U" shaped lines around it to form the flower's center.

Draw a wide "U" shape with outward curved tips, connecting them with a long wavy line to make first petal.

Draw a curved line from center of flower, connect to side of first petal to enclose second, add depth with more lines.

Extend a wavy line from the flower's center to connect to the tip of the opposite petal for depth.

Connect second and third petal with wavy line, shade fourth petal along with first petal using curves.

Wavy lines connect each petal indicating additional petals at their junctions.

Extend a pair of long, curved, parallel lines downward from the bloom. This forms the flower's stem.

Draw two curved lines on the stem, creating a pointed leaf. Add a curved vein.

On the opposite side of the stem, extend three curved lines to form a second leaf.
