Use curved lines to outline the brow and nose, connecting above the eyebrow, with a diverging "V" line for the nose pad.
Outline the outer and inner lines of the muzzle, including teeth, nostril, and "V" shape.
Outline the lion's beard above the eye with short, jagged lines connected by a wide, curved "V".
Draw the lion's ear and mane using curved lines, short lines, and a jagged rectangle.
Draw the mane using long curved lines with jagged patterns at the top and side of the face.
Continue drawing the flowing mane. Use long curved lines to craft the jagged "V" shape.
Outline more jagged shapes to continue texturing the mane.
Fill in the remaining open spaces in the lion's mane with jagged, pointed shapes.
