How to Draw a Great Looking Ship in a Bottle for Kids and Beginners - Step 1
1. Begin the ship in a bottle outline by drawing a large bottle. Use a long curved line for the roughly rectangular shape of the bottle.
Use two short lines for the bottle's neck, and connect them with a "C" shaped line.
Drawing Step 2
2. Draw a cork sealing up the bottle. Use curved lines to make a rounded trapezoid shape, then band it with curved lines, one of which gives it a three-dimensional appearance.

3. Contour the bottle's neck with a short line, then begin building the ship. Use a curved line for the keel or bottom of the ship. Use a series of curved lines to create a rainbow-shaped stand to hold it up.
Drawing Step 4
4. Draw a curved rectangle at the top of the hull. Extend a curved line from it to finish enclosing the hull. On the front of the ship, use two curved lines to draw the pointed bow sprit.
Drawing Step 5
5. Use curved lines to draw a triangle and a rectangle. These are the first of the ship's sails.
Drawing Step 6
6. Use curved lines to enclose two more rectangular sails. Draw parallel lines below, between, and above the sails to form the mast. Extend a horizontal line that will become the bottom of the next sail.
Drawing Step 7
7. Complete the rectangular sail, then use parallel lines to draw the mast behind the sails. Use curved lines to enclose two more sails.

These are windows called portholes.

9. Draw a curved line across the hole, and another across the bottom of the bottle, giving it a three-dimensional appearance.
Finally, draw a stand for the bottle, erasing as necessary. Below the bottle, draw a long, rounded trapezoid.
Connect it to the bottle with pairs of straight lines connected at the top by short curved lines.
Color Your Ship in a Bottle Drawing
Your ship in a bottle outline is now complete. Color your drawing. Wooden sailing ships were often brown with white sails, but paint or colorful fabric could be used.

Learn More About The Ship in a Bottle Drawing
Have you ever wanted to build a ship in a bottle? Now, you can draw one with the help of this easy, step-by-step ship in a bottle drawing tutorial.
Ships in bottles are really cool. They're called "impossible bottles" because the objects inside are too large to fit through the opening of the bottle.
They've been popular for about 200 years, since clear glass bottles became common.
How are they made? Usually, the ships are constructed inside the bottles. Long tweezers are used to put the small parts together.
We'll use a similar method here. First, we'll draw the bottle. Then we'll create the ship drawing one piece at a time.
