1. Begin the playing card outline by drawing a rectangle with rounded corners, tilted at a diagonal angle. This outlines the first card.

Then, use straight lines to enclose another round-cornered rectangular shape, mostly hidden behind the first.

2. Draw three more playing cards. Again, use straight lines to outline each shape, noting the rounded corners. Overall, the stack of cards should be splayed in an arch shape.

3. Draw the hand of the person holding the cards, erasing as necessary. Use a long curved line, doubled back on itself, to form the thumb. Use additional curved lines for the side and back of the hand.

4. Use a series of overlapping curved lines to draw the remaining fingers and sides of the hand in the background. Detail the thumb by drawing a round shape for the thumbnail.

5. Texture the knuckle of the thumb and the webspace between the thumb and finger with short curved lines. Then, detail the cards. Draw a capital letter "A" in the top left corner of the card, showing that it is an ace.

In the center of the card, draw the suit - the spade. Use curved lines to draw the heart-shaped top and triangular base.

6. Draw an upside-down letter "A" at the bottom right-hand corner of the card. Draw a small spade beneath each "A." On the second card, use straight lines to outline part of a rectangular shape.

7. Draw a capital letter "K" to indicate that the second card is a king. Draw a heart below the "K" and half a heart within the rectangle. Use straight lines to enclose partial rectangles on the next two cards.

8. Draw a capital letter "Q" on the next card and a "J" on the following one to make queen and jack cards. Use curved lines to draw a diamond shape below the "Q" and half a diamond inside the rectangle.
