Drawing Step 3

3. Draw a curved line from the front of the hatband. Double the line back on itself to form the brim of the hat.
Drawing Step 4

4. Extend a curved line from the back of the hatband. Curl it around the end of the previous line and allow it to meet the middle of the line. This completes the hat's brim.
Then, extend two curved lines from the original brim line. It will pass over the second line so erase as necessary.
The lines should draw closer together as they extend. This will become a chinstrap to keep the hat on the wearer's head.
Drawing Step 5

5. Enclose a rounded pill shape at the end of the lines. Then, extend another pair of lines from the pill shape to the opposite side of the hat, completing the chinstrap.
Drawing Step 6

6. Draw a curved line across one end of the pill shape, giving it a three-dimensional, cylindrical appearance.
Extend a curved line from the shape and double it back on itself. Draw another doubled line within the first. This is how the chinstrap is resized.
Drawing Step 7

7. Draw a curved line across the top of the hat's crown and around the edge of the brim.
