How to Draw a Great Looking Day of the Dead Skull for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the Day of the Dead skull outline by drawing two large circles. These are the eyes or eye sockets. Draw a large oval inside each circle. Then, draw an upside-down heart between and below the eyes. This indicates the location of the nose.

2. Outline the sides of the skull using curved lines. Connect them with a slightly wavy curved line at the bottom.

3. Draw a series of "U" shaped lines above and below the wavy line. These are the teeth of the skull.

4. Draw a long curved line from one cheek of the skull to the other, outlining the jawbone. Notice the sharp corners around the chin.

7. Draw a curved line across each cheek. Draw small teardrops along the lines, creating a fern leaf design. Draw a heart in the center of the forehead, with spiral lines below it. Shade small dots above the eyes.
