Learn More About The Fencing Drawing

En garde! Take your fighting-ready stance, because it is time to learn how to draw fencing.

Fencing is a sport of swordplay with roots in the Middle Ages. It is not to be confused with fencing, that is, like the one in this picket fence drawing.

In fencing, athletes wear protective clothing to keep from hurting one another, including the mask that hides the face.

You will also notice that instead of a heavy sword drawing, these characters carry a very narrow blade called an epee or sabre.

You've likely seen movies that have relied on fencing for sword-fighting scenes, such as the Jedi battles in Star Wars. Could you imagine this scene with a lightsaber drawing?
