Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing Skiing

How to Draw a Great Looking Skiing for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the skiing outline by drawing the skier’s face. Use curved lines to outline his goggles, nose, mouth, and chin.
Drawing Step 2

2. Extend a curved line from the goggles to enclose the rounded shape of the helmet. Decorate the helmet with curved lines and rectangles.
Draw two curved lines loosely parallel to the head to outline the warm collar of the skier's coat.

Drawing Step 3

3. Use a series of curved lines to sketch the opposite collar, the shoulder, the sleeve, and the hand.
Notice the jagged dimples that texture the fabric of the garment. Notice, too, the half-oval shape in the skier's hand. This will become the top of the ski pole.
Drawing Step 4

4. Extend a pair of curved lines from the back of the hand. Allow them to meet, forming the rest of the ski pole.
Draw an oval around the end to form the "basket," and extend a short line from it to form the metal tip. Then, use a series of overlapping curved lines to sketch the remaining arm and glove.
Drawing Step 5

5. Use overlapping curved lines to draw the fingers, thumb, and top of the ski pole. Then extend a pair of lines to form the pole's shaft. Draw the oval-shaped basket and sharp tip.
Drawing Step 6

6. Use a series of overlapping curved lines to draw the skier's torso and pants. Notice how his abdomen, hips, and knees are bent into the posture of skiing.
Drawing Step 7

7. Use curved lines to complete the pants leg and enclose the rounded shoes.
Extend long lines from the fronts of the shoes and double them back on themselves to form the fronts of the skis. Use straight lines to draw the rear portions of the skis.

8. Detail the front of the jacket with vertical and horizontal lines.

9. Draw pairs of lines across the shoes to form the straps that keep the skis on the skier's feet. Then use short curved lines to texture the jacket, gloves, pants, and straps.
