Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Chili Pepper
How to Draw a Great Looking Chili Pepper for Kids and Beginners - Step 1
1. Begin the chili pepper outline by drawing a long curved line. This will be the side of the pepper.
Overlapping the end of it, extend a long curved line and double it back on itself. This is the pepper's cap or calyx, as well as its long stem.
Drawing Step 2
2. Extend the first line, doubling it back to meet the cap and enclose the pepper's shape. Then, draw a wavy curved line down the center of the pepper. This detail will become a cross-section as if the pepper has been cut in half.

Drawing Step 3
3. Draw another curved line, a near mirror image of the previous one. This is the placenta or "seed membrane." Then, draw curved lines down each side of the pepper and connect them with a "V" shaped line near the pepper's tip. This indicates the endocarp or outer skin of the pepper.
Drawing Step 4
4. Extend two lines from the stem, erasing as necessary. This will become the stem of a second pepper.
Drawing Step 5
5. Use a series of curved lines that meet at points to draw the cap of the second chili pepper. From it, extend a curved line and double it back on itself to enclose the pepper. Then, extend two curved lines from the other side of the stem and draw a second cap.
Drawing Step 6
6. Extend a long curved line from the cap and double it back on itself to enclose the third pepper. Contour the stem with a short line. From the main stem, extend a curved line and enclose a leaf around it.
Drawing Step 7
7. Draw more leaves, extending three curved lines from the stem and drawing leaves around them.

9. Detail the leaf veins by drawing short curved lines branching from them. Use curved lines to give the peppers a wrinkly texture.

Your chili pepper outline is now complete. Color your peppers. Ripe cayenne peppers are deep red, but as they mature, they may be green, yellow, or orange.
