How to Draw a Great Looking Cockroach for Kids and Beginners - Step 1
1. Begin the cockroach outline by drawing its head. Enclose a half-circle shape, then draw two large round shapes inside it.
These are the eyes. Next, draw the thorax. Extend a line from one side of the head and bring it all the way around to the other.

2. Draw the wings, one folded over the other. For the first wing, extend a long curved line from the thorax and double it back on itself.
Enclose the second wing by drawing a line from the thorax to the end of the second wing. Band each wing with a curved line.

3. Draw the front legs. For each leg, draw a series of three rounded rectangles. Each rectangle should be thinner and longer than the last.

4. Draw the second set of legs. Use partial ovals for the first segment of each leg. Draw curved rectangles for the second section. For the last one, extend a line and double it back on itself, noting the clublike foot.

6. Finish the remaining rear leg. Draw two small triangular hooks at the end of each foot. Draw two curved triangles near the end of the abdomen. These are a pair of sensory appendages called anal cerci, similar to antennae.
Then, draw the first antenna. Extend two long, curved lines from the head, allowing them to meet at a point. Erase as necessary.

7. Draw the remaining antenna. Again, extend two long curved lines from the head, allowing them to meet at a point. Texture the thorax and wings with curved lines.
