Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Firefighter Helmet

How to Draw a Great Looking Firefighter Helmet for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the firefighter helmet outline by drawing a series of curved lines.
Connect six lines as if you were attempting to complete an octagon but forgot two sides. This will become the badge on the front of the helmet.
Drawing Step 2

2. Draw the brim of the hat. Use curved lines below the badge, for the edge of the brim, and to give its edge a three-dimensional appearance.

Drawing Step 3

3. Draw a series of connected, curved lines to begin sketching the ribbed crown of the hat.
Drawing Step 4

4. Use two curved lines that meet at a point to enclose a curved triangle shape on top of the hat. Contour this shade and the crown with curved lines.
Then, begin drawing the strap. Enclose a trapezoid under the brim, and extend two parallel curved lines below it.
Drawing Step 5

5. Draw a rounded square at the bottom of the strap. From it, extend a line and double it back on itself to complete the strap.
Then, continue the line of the hat’s brim behind the strap. Enclose another curved shape behind the strap, indicating the inside of the hat.
Drawing Step 6

6. Draw two small rectangle shapes inside the square, creating a buckle. Then draw two parallel curved lines from the strap to the opposite side of the hat.
Notice the overlap of lines that gives this strap a three-dimensional appearance.
Drawing Step 7

7. Draw four small ovals within the badge. Draw lines parallel to two sides of the badge to give it a three-dimensional appearance.
