How to Draw a Jester Hat

1. Begin the jester hat outline by drawing a crown-like shape. Use a long line for the bottom of the hat and shorter lines that meet to form the triangular points.

2. Next, draw the top of the hat. Draw an oval at the end, and extend two long curved lines from it in a floppy, open triangle.

3. Finish enclosing the crownlike brim by connecting it to the floppy portion with two curved lines. Then, use two long lines to begin sketching a second floppy, triangular section.

4. Draw an oval at the tip of the second section, and complete its shape with two overlapping curved lines. Then extend a long curved line above the hat to begin a third triangular section.

5. Draw an oval at the tip of the third section and complete the section with a curved line. Then, extend two curved lines that meet at a point to create the hat's fourth section.

6. Draw an oval at the tip of the fourth section. Use a long curved line, doubled back on itself, to enclose a fifth section. Then, draw several small ovals within the crownlike brim.

7. Finish drawing ovals along the brim. Then, detail the ovals at the tip of each section to turn them into jingle bells.

For one, shade two small ovals and connect them with a curved line. For the other, shade one oval and draw a line from it to the side of the bell.

8. Draw ovals and lines on the remaining bells. Then, draw a curved line at the front of the hat, and cross it with shorter lines to indicate stitches.

9. Contour the hat with curved lines.

Your jester hat outline is now complete. Color your drawing. Often, each triangular section of the hat was a different color.
