How to Draw a Garbage Truck

1. Begin the garbage truck outline by drawing a circle for the wheel. Draw an "L" shaped line on one side and a straight line on the other.

At the end of the straight line, enclose a slanted square for the bumper. Then, extend a long curved line upward to sketch the front and top of the cab.

2. Draw the doors and windows using rectangular shapes. The door's rectangle is missing a corner.

3. Detail the door with a rectangular hand and mirror. Enclose a round shape on the front. On the side, draw a rectangle and two more round wheels.

4. Enclose the remainder of the truck. Use straight and curved lines for the rectangular and irregular shapes.

5. Embellish the tailgate or hopper. Draw a boomerang shape, then enclose rectangles and a triangle with straight lines.

6. Continue to detail the back of the garbage truck. Use straight and curved lines to enclose the rectangular shapes of the arms.

Use circles or partial circles where they attach. Draw two straight lines across the uppermost portion.

7. Draw a straight, diagonal line and a horizontal line across the garbage container, called the box. Draw a circle inside each wheel and a half-circle around the top of it.

8. Decorate the wheels. Draw a small circle inside each, with straight spokes radiating from it. Then, begin the recycling symbol on the side of the truck. Use mostly straight lines to sketch the folded arrow.

9. Draw two more folded arrows in a triangle shape, completing the recycling symbol.

Your cartoon garbage truck outline is now complete. Color your vehicle. In our example, the truck is green, representing its commitment to recycling. Garbage trucks come in almost every color. In some places, they are even bright pink!
