1. Begin by drawing an oval. This will help you to form the king's head.

2. Draw the crown. First, draw a curved line across the top of the oval. Then, draw curved lines up from each end. Draw a series of inverted "V" shaped points above the crown, and connect them using "C" shaped lines. Draw curved lines between these spires, and another parallel to the bottom of the crown. Draw several circles around the crown to indicate jewels.

3. Outline the king's face using a curved line. Notice the indentation at the bottom of the rounded shape. This will form the top of the king's beard.

4. Draw a "C" shaped ear on each side of the face, and detail its interior with a curved line. Draw curved lines from the crown to the ears to indicate the hair. From below the ears, extend curved lines that meet at a gentle point beneath the chin, outlining the beard. Use curved lines to draw rounded triangles of hair beneath each of the ears.

5. Detail the king's face. Enclose pointed, curved shapes to indicate the eyebrows. Beneath each, draw a series of straight lines to enclose the square shape of the eye. Shade a circle in each to indicate the pupils. Draw the nose using a "C" shaped line, and use curved lines that meet at points to outline the mustache. Use a curved line to enclose the mouth beneath the mustache.

6. Draw the king's royal garments. Use pairs of long, curved lines to draw the edges of his robe. Draw a big circle to indicate a belt buckle, and connect it to the sides of the robe with straight lines. Use curved lines to outline the square shapes of his pant legs.

7. Use curved lines to outline the side of the robe, sleeve, and cuff. Then, sketch the fingers, palm, and thumb.

8. Extend a pair of curved lines to form the remaining arm, and use curved lines to enclose the cuff. Enclose the irregular rounded shapes of the thumb and fingers using curved lines.
