Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Plant

How to Draw a Great Looking Plant for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the plant outline by drawing the flower pot. Draw a narrow, horizontal trapezoid, with a long, tall trapezoid beneath it.
Draw another horizontal trapezoid at the bottom, then connect its corners to the sides of the pot with short lines.
Drawing Step 2

2. Band the flower pot with two curved lines. Then, begin drawing the plant's stem. First, use curved lines to draw two overlapping triangles. Then extend a long curved line from one side.

Drawing Step 3

3. The long line will become a leaf stem when you draw another curved line parallel to it.
Then, use two curved lines to enclose a heart-shaped leaf at the end of the stem. Extend two curved lines from the lip of the pot and allow them to meet at a point to form another stem.
Drawing Step 4

4. Extend another pair of curved lines from the main stem. Then, use curved lines to enclose heart-shaped leaves around the tips of both stems.
Drawing Step 5

5. Continue drawing the stem, extending two curved lines upward. One line will become a leaf stem when you draw another curved line parallel to it. Enclose a heart-shaped leaf around its tip.
Drawing Step 6

6. Extend two more curved lines from the opposite side of the main stem, forming another leaf stem.
Enclose a heart-shaped leaf around them. Then draw two small "V" shaped lines at the top of the main stem.
Drawing Step 7

7. Draw two more overlapping "V" shaped lines. Then, extend two nearly vertical lines above them.
