Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Terracotta Warrior

How to Draw a Great Looking Terracotta Warrior for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the terracotta warrior outline by sketching the statue's face. Use curved lines to outline the almond-shaped eyes, eyelids, eyebrows, nose, and mustache. Enclose a partial circle inside each eye.
Drawing Step 2

2. Draw short lines beneath the mustache to indicate the lips and chin. Then, use a series of overlapping lines to sketch the chin and cheeks, ears, and hair pulled back in a bun.

3. Enclose another, larger bun on top of the first. Use curved lines to contour the hair, ears, cheeks, and chin. Extend two lines below the head to form the neck.
Then, enclose the curved shapes of the garment's collar and the rectangular plates of armor on the arms. Connect them with curved lines.
Drawing Step 4

4. Use long curved lines, doubled back on themselves, to form the curved rectangular sleeves. Then draw the hands using a series of overlapping curved lines.
Drawing Step 5

5. Draw the statue's torso using two long curved lines. Gird his waist with parallel lines. Enclose large and small curved rectangle shapes around the neck and shoulders.
Drawing Step 6

6. Embellish the armor with elongated shapes, erasing as necessary. Draw a checkerboard pattern across the chest with two flattened ovals at the top.
Drawing Step 7

7. Draw a checkerboard pattern across the shoulder armor, and band the collar and shoulders with curved lines. Draw two "V" shaped lines below the belt, with a horizontal curved line below it.
