How to Draw a Waiter

1. Begin the waiter outline by drawing the man's face. Use curved lines for the nose, the somewhat rectangular eyes, and the eyelids. Shade an oval inside each eye and a thick teardrop-shaped eyebrow above it.

2. Outline the face with a long curved line. Then use pairs of lines to enclose the "W" shape of the pointed mustache. Finally, use curved lines for the teeth, the smiling mouth, and the chin.

3. Use overlapping curved lines to draw the man's hair, his ear and the contours within it, and the neck. Below the neck, draw a small square with rounded corners. This will become the knot of his bow tie.

4. Enclose the sides of the bow on each side of the knot. Connect the tie to the neck by drawing the curved rectangle shapes of the shirt's collar.

Then, draw the sides of the vest and connect them to the collar with short lines.

5. Use overlapping curved lines to draw the waiter's arm, bent at the elbow, and his hand. Above the incomplete hand, draw a "C" shaped line. This will become the tray of food.

6. Use curved lines to detail the palm of the hand and the fingers. On the tray, enclose a partial circle for the lid.

Draw a small flattened oval for the handle on top. Then, use overlapping curved lines to draw the man's other arm and the side of his torso.

7. Use overlapping lines to draw the rectangular towel, the bottom of the sleeve, and the hand.

8. Use overlapping curved lines to complete the hand and fingers. Then, use additional lines for the back of the towel and the bottom of the vest.

9. Use curved lines to draw the waiter's pants, the cuffs of the sleeves, and to texture the hair, towel, and clothing.

Draw a "V" shaped line below the bowtie, and small circles for buttons on the shirt, vest, and sleeves.

Your waiter outline is now complete. Color your cartoon character. In fancy restaurants, waiters often dress in black and white. Sometimes, the vest or tie is another dark color, like burgundy or navy blue.
