Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Restaurant

How to Draw a Great Looking Restaurant for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the restaurant outline by drawing a table and chair. First, draw a narrow trapezoid. This will become a vase of flowers. Nearby, enclose a rectangle with rounded corners. This is the back of the chair. Extend a long curved line from the chair to the vase, and beyond it to the bottom of your drawing.
This is the table. Contour the tabletop and chair back with curved lines.

3. Contour the chair with straight lines, then begin another table in the background. Again, not the trapezoidal vase, the oval tabletop, the scalloped edge of the tablecloth, the square seat of the chair, and its narrow rectangular legs.
Drawing Step 4

4. Draw the square back of the chair and connect it to the seat using pairs of straight lines. Draw a daisy in the vase, and texture the tablecloth with vertical lines. Then, draw a sign. Use a rectangle within a rectangle for the front of the sign, and a right triangle for its stand.
Drawing Step 5

5. Draw a straight, diagonal line passing behind the far table. Sketch a potted plant with a rectangular pot and cloudlike shrubbery. Draw lines across the sign to indicate writing.
Drawing Step 6

6. Draw a large square atop the diagonal line, then divide it with a straight, vertical line down the middle. This forms the doors. Give each door a rectangular window, and draw another rectangle on top of them.
Drawing Step 7

7. Draw a small oval knob on each door. Then, draw the windows. Use large rectangles and scalloped lines to form the awnings. Notice how one awning extends beyond the rectangle. Erase as necessary.

8. Draw curved lines across the awnings and a straight, horizontal line across the bottom of the building. Then, draw rectangles on the front of the building to give it the texture of a brick wall.
Complete the Outline of Your Restaurant Drawing - Step 9

9. Complete your restaurant outline by completing the sign above the door. Write the word "Restaurant" in fancy letters. Draw small circles along the top and bottom of the sign to indicate the lights.
