How to Draw a Great Looking Open Book for Kids and Beginners - Step 1
1. Begin as you would an actual book - with the first page. Draw three curved lines to outline a wavy, partial rectangle shape. Notice that the lines of the top and bottom of the page are roughly parallel, and the side of the page almost straight.

2. Draw a line from the bottom of the page, up to the top of the page, outlining the spine or binding. Then, let the line continue to form the top of the next page. Use two more curved lines to fully enclose the page.

3. Draw more pages beneath these. Use curved lines to outline the rectangular shapes partially hidden by the first pages. Notice the straight line where two of the pages come together at the spine.

4. Draw a rounded triangle at the base of the spine. At opposite corners, draw a series of overlapping curved lines to indicate page corners. Then, connect the corners and the spine using a series of nearly straight lines.

5. Extend short straight lines from the spine and connect them with a curved line. Then, draw nearly straight lines parallel with the last, connecting the corners to the spine. This outlines the book's cover.

6. Detail the page edges. Draw curved lines from the spine to the corner. Use two curved lines, connected with a "V" shaped line, to form a bookmark ribbon. Erase as necessary.
