Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing Gru from Despicable Me
How to Draw a Great Looking Gru for Kids and Beginners - Step 1
1. Begin by sketching Gru's head. Use curved lines to craft the irregular shape. Note the "C" shaped line used for the ear.

2. Next, outline Gru's scarf. Use a long, curved line.

3. Continue to draw the scarf. Extend a pair of long, straight lines from the wrapped portion of the scarf.

4. Draw the other end of the scarf. Extend a pair of curved lines from the opposite side.

5. Draw Gru's jacket. Extend short lines from each side of the scarf. Draw a nearly straight line, followed by a "V" shaped line. Then, connect it to the tail of the scarf. Between the scarves, enclose two rectangular shapes. Together, these shapes form the jacket's collar. Then, extend curved lines from the shoulders, and additional lines to differentiate the arms.

6. Draw the jacket's zipper. Between the central portions of the collar, draw a square, followed by an inverted pentagon. Then, extend a pair of long, nearly straight lines. between the lines, draw a series of "X" shaped lines.

7. Detail the scarf. Draw pairs of curved lines across it to indicate stripes. Then, draw a curved line parallel to the bottom of the portion that is around the neck.
