Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing the Sydney Harbor Bridge

How to Draw a Great Looking Sydney Harbor Bridge for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

Sydney Harbor Bridge step-by-step drawing tutorial: step 1

1. Begin the Sydney Harbor Bridge outline by drawing a series of straight lines. First, draw a trapezoid shape.

Then draw a narrow trapezoid beside it to create a rectangular prism. Extend three straight lines from its lower corners, extending the prism downward.

This is one of the bridge's towers. Draw two lines to begin another tower, with long, parallel lines connecting them. Draw a narrow rectangle to continue the lines on the near side of the first tower.

Drawing Step 2

2. Draw three parallel curved lines between the towers, two very close together.

Then, draw a curved line from each tower, one to the top of the arch and one to the bottom of it. This gives the arch a three-dimensional shape.

Complete the tower using straight lines to draw the rectangular prisms.

3. Draw another curved line parallel to the bottom of the arch, and a straight line parallel to the bridge's deck.

Draw arches and rectangles on the near tower and band it with straight lines. Enclose a narrow rectangular prism on top of it.

Then, use straight lines to sketch the rectangular prisms of another tower beside it.

4. Add arches, bands of straight lines, and a topping prism to this third tower. Detail the first with short, thick lines and curved lines.

Then, draw a rectangle below the deck. Inside it, arrange four triangles into a rectangle shape.

6. Continue the zigzag pattern on the side of the arch and draw an "X" pattern on its top and bottom. Draw straight lines from the arch to the deck of the bridge. These are the vertical suspenders.
