Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Cauliflower

How to Draw a Great Looking Cauliflower for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Draw the first of the wavy, triangular leaves. Outline the leaf using two wavy lines that meet at a sharp point. Then, use overlapping curved lines to draw the bottom of the leaf and the thick central vein.
Drawing Step 2

2. Draw another, longer leaf alongside the first. Use overlapping wavy lines to form the back of the leaf and the thick central vein. Then, draw the front side of the leaf using another wavy line, allowing it to meet the others at a sharp point.

Drawing Step 3

3. Draw a segment of the cauliflower, using overlapping curved lines. Then, begin drawing the curled third leaf. Use a long curved line that twists and turns back upon itself, again and again, then another such line - allowing them to meet and overlap.
Drawing Step 4

4. Draw the branching veins of the large leaf. Use pairs of long curved lines and "V" shaped lines. Outline the top of the leaf with another wavy line.
Drawing Step 5

5. Enclose the top of the cauliflower outline. Use two series of curved lines of various lengths. Connect them in the center by allowing them to overlap with a third series of lines.
Drawing Step 6

6. Begin to texture the bulbous vegetable. Use several series of connected curved lines, both within the outline and along its edges. Also, draw individual "U" shaped lines.
Drawing Step 7

7. Continue to texture the surface of the cauliflower by drawing individual curved lines and curved lines in series.
