Learn More About The Head Outline Drawing

Drawing human faces is one of the biggest challenges for artists of all ages and skill levels. As you learn how to draw this head outline, you will develop skills that will make you a better artist.

This head outline is drawn in profile. That means you are looking at the subject from the side. You can only see one eye, one side of the nose, and half the mouth.

Faces are commonly drawn from other angles as well. For example, you can also draw a man's face in portrait format - looking at him straight on.

Once you've mastered both profile and portrait, try your hand at drawing him in 3/4 perspective, at an angle halfway between portrait and profile.

This Indiana Jones drawing will introduce you to the technique.
