Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Morning Glory

How to Draw a Great Looking Morning Glory for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

Morning Glory step-by-step drawing tutorial: step 1

1. Begin the cartoon morning glory outline by drawing the first blossom. Use a wavy curved line to enclose the round shape. Then, draw a "C" shaped line in the center of the flower.

From it, extend two short, curved lines that meet at a point. This is the flower's stamen. Draw a small oval at the tip to indicate the anther.

Then, separate the petals by drawing curved lines from the flower's center to its edges.

2. Draw more curved lines until the flower is separated into five petals. Then, use a pair of curved lines to enclose a triangular stripe down the center of each petal.

Next, use a pair of curved lines to draw the flower's stem. Extend two more curved lines from its base, and allow them to meet at a sharp point. This will become the vein of a leaf.

4. Draw a long, vining stem extending through the middle of the drawing. Use pairs of long, curved lines. Notice how some of the lines branch from the main line.

Extend two curved lines from one of the branches; they will form the base of the next flower. At the top, coil the lines in a spiral pattern, eventually allowing them to meet at a sharp point.

Begin outlining the final flower. Use a curved "V" shaped line for its base and a wavy line for its top. Notice that these lines do not meet.
