1. Begin the road roller outline by drawing a series of curved and straight lines. The result is a three-dimensional, cubelike rendering of the road roller's rectangular cab.

2. Enclose curved rectangles on the front, side, and top of the cab, forming the roof, windows, and door.

3. Draw a large, three-dimensional cylinder in front of the cab. One end of the cylinder is an oval, and the side is a curved rectangle.

Then, draw two more curved rectangles in front of it. This is the roller and the armature that supports it. Draw a small rectangle on the cab door to indicate the handle.

4. Draw a smaller oval on the side of the cylinder, with a curved line along one side. Use curved lines to give the armature a three-dimensional appearance, and draw a small rectangle within it.

5. Draw a small circle within the rectangle, and enclose the bottom of the cab with a straight line. Then, draw an oval within an oval and band it with a curved line. This is the roller's rear wheel.

6. Draw another smaller oval within the wheel. Then, use a series of curved lines to enclose the bottom and back of the machine.

7. Draw a square taillight and three parallelogram-shaped steps. Contour the steps and cab with short lines.
