Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing an Easy Street in One Point Perspective

How to Draw a Great Looking Easy Street in One Point Perspective for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

Easy Street in One Point Perspective step-by-step drawing tutorial: step 1

1. Begin the easy street in one one-point perspective outline by drawing a series of guide lines.

You can use a ruler or straight edge to help you make perfectly straight lines. First, draw a horizontal line in the middle of your paper.

Then, draw a wide "X" shape with its center at the same point. Draw two more straight lines from that point, equally spaced between the lower arms of the "X."

Then, draw vertical lines between the arms of the "X," enclosing triangles.

Draw a short horizontal line near the bottom of one triangle, enclosing yet another triangle. Some of these shapes will form the street, others buildings.

Drawing Step 2

2. Next, use these lines to craft still more buildings - a rectangular one and a cylindrical one. Erase guide lines that are no longer needed from your sketch.

Drawing Step 3

3. Erase the remainder of the original guide lines. Then, begin drawing street lines.

The fixture of each light is an oval with two lines across it, the pole a pair of bent straight lines, and the base a cylinder. Notice that the nearer light appears much larger than the far light.

Drawing Step 4

4. Draw another, smaller street light in the distance. Then, draw a tree - a rectangle for its base, a pair of curved lines for the trunk, and a series of connected, curved lines to enclose the crown.

Drawing Step 5

5. Draw another tree, again using a rectangle for its base, a pair of curved lines for the trunk, and a series of connected, curved lines to enclose the crown.

Notice that it appears smaller than the first. Then, draw a car, using curved lines to enclose the body, hood, windshield, and mirrors.

Drawing Step 6

6. Complete the car using ovals and curved lines. Then, use straight lines to enclose rectangular and pentagon-shaped buildings in the distance.

Make sure that their diagonal tops and bottoms point to the same vanishing point.

Drawing Step 7

7. Continue the street, and sketch a distinct skyline. Draw rectangular buildings towering over those nearest, and detail one building with rectangular windows.

9. Draw an oval-shaped manhole cover on the sidewalk, a curved line parallel to its edge.
