Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Stork
How to Draw a Great Looking Stork for Kids and Beginners - Step 1
1. Begin the stork outline by drawing the bird's head. Use pairs of long curved lines that meet at points for the long beak.
Enclose the ends of the beak and sketch the head using a series of connected curved lines that suggest the texture of feathers. For the eye, draw an oval with two smaller ovals inside. Shade around them.
Drawing Step 2
2. Use a series of lines of different lengths to draw the neck, back, and chest. The lines should meet at jagged points, suggesting feathers. Draw a short curved line on the top section of the beak.

3. Draw the feathered layers of the stork's folded wing. Use a series of curved lines for each layer. For the longer flight feathers, use overlapping pairs of lines that meet at points. Then, extend the back with a longer curved line.
Drawing Step 4
4. Draw two more layers of wing feathers. Again, use overlapping lines to form the long feathers.
Drawing Step 5
5. Continue to use overlapping lines and lines that meet at points to finish the wing and belly, and begin the tail.
Drawing Step 6
6. Use curved lines to add texture to the back of the wing. Then, extend a pair of lines below the bird to draw its long, skinny leg. Notice the rounded shape of the stork's knee.
Drawing Step 7
7. Use overlapping curved lines to draw the toes, with small teardrop shapes for the claws or talons. Then, begin drawing the other leg. This time, the leg is bent at the knee and raised as if taking a step.
