Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Sweet Pea

How to Draw a Great Looking Sweet Pea for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

Sweet Pea step-by-step drawing tutorial: step 1

1. Begin the sweet pea outline with a series of wavy curved lines. First, draw a backward “C” shaped line.

Around it, draw wavy lines to enclose what appear to be the wings of an upside-down butterfly. Then, draw another curved line from the bottom of one wing to its top.

2. Draw another curved line from the previous line to the side of the opposite “wing” so that the blossom is symmetrical. Detail the flower with wavy and curved lines.

Then, begin drawing another blossom from a different angle. Use a curved line to enclose an irregular teardrop shape. Then, enclose a semi-circle on one side of it.

3. Use three curved lines to enclose additional petals. Then draw the stem. Use a pair of long, curved lines that pass behind the other blossom.

Near the bottom of the stem, extend two short curved lines that meet at a point, forming a leaflet.

4. Draw a long, curved line passing behind the first, beginning another stem. Extend two curved lines from it also, but don’t let them touch.

Draw a line upward from the second blossom. Use curved lines that meet at jagged points to sketch the sepal of another flower. Then, use wavy curved lines to enclose two petals.

5. Complete the stem, drawing another curved line parallel to it. Use curved lines to enclose a small sepal and large petals on top of it - another blossom.
