Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Snapdragon

How to Draw a Great Looking Snapdragon for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the snapdragon outline by drawing two long, curved, roughly parallel lines. At the bottom of the lines, sketch the snapdragon flower.
Its upper petals resemble blocky teardrops. The lower part is like an upside-down heart with three wavy fringes at the bottom. Then, extend the lines of the stem below the flower.
Drawing Step 2

2. Draw two more snapdragon flowers, one on each side of the first. Use a zigzag line to enclose the sepals, with overlapping curved lines enclosing the irregular shape of each bloom.

3. Use a series of "U" shaped lines to enclose the sepals of two more flowers above the first. Erase the stem as necessary. Then, use overlapping curved lines to enclose the irregular shape of the flowers.
Drawing Step 4

4. Finish the previous flowers, and draw two more, erasing the stem as necessary. Use curved lines for the blocky upper petals, the rounded middle, and the wavy, rectangular bottom petals.
Drawing Step 5

5. Finish the fringe petals of the previous flower, then draw two more above it. Use jagged curved lines to enclose the sepals and overlapping curved lines to sketch the blossoms.
Drawing Step 6

6. Fill out the stem so that each row has two or three flowers. For each, use jagged curved lines to enclose the sepals and overlapping curved lines to sketch the blossoms.
Drawing Step 7

7. Use a series of curved lines to enclose two more sepals at the top of the stem.
Then, use overlapping curved lines to sketch two blooms that have not fully opened. At the base of the stem, extend two curved lines that meet at a point to form the leaf.
