How to Draw a Great Looking Easy Cartoon Dog for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the easy cartoon dog outline by drawing his nose and mouth. Enclose a circle for the nose. Then use a long curved line to enclose a peanut shape under it.
Drawing Step 2

2. Next, draw the eyes. Extend curved lines from the nose and double them back on themselves to meet the cheeks. Shade a large oval inside each eye.
Then, extend a long curved line from the cheek. Take it over the eyes to meet the other cheek, enclosing the top of the head.

Drawing Step 3

3. Draw a thick line above each eye to form the eyebrows. Then, draw a wide "W" shaped line below the nose. This is the puppy's mouth.
Draw a small curved line at each corner of the mouth and a "U" shaped tongue below it. You might have to erase a little where the tongue overlaps a previous line.
Drawing Step 4

4. Extend long curved lines from the top of the head and let them meet the jaw. These are the dog's floppy ears.
Detail the tongue with a line down the center. Draw small dots on the cheeks to indicate the whiskers. Extend two lines below the mouth to form the neck.
Drawing Step 5

5. Draw a curved line at the bottom of the neck then enclose a rounded rectangle around it. This is the dog's collar. Draw a small oval shape at the front of the collar.
Drawing Step 6

6. Draw a circle below the collar. This is the name tag. Below this, extend a long curved line and double it back on itself to form the dog's leg and foot.
Drawing Step 7

7. Draw another leg, again extending a line and doubling it back on itself. Detail the toes with short curved lines.
