Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing an Easy Hallway in One Point Perspective

How to Draw a Great Looking Easy Hallway in One Point Perspective for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

Easy Hallway in One Point Perspective step-by-step drawing tutorial: step 1

1. Begin the easy hallway in a one-point perspective outline by drawing three lines - a horizontal line and two diagonal lines - that cross at a central point.

You can use a ruler or a straightedge to make perfectly straight lines. Then, draw a square around the center point, with its corners on the diagonal lines.

Drawing Step 2

2. Erase the horizontal line from outside the square and the center of the "X" from within it. Then, from the point where the lines met, draw a series of diagonal lines.

Draw vertical lines between some of them, and a horizontal line between two. In subsequent steps, these lines will become a rug and a bookcase.

5. Erase the guide lines, and complete the back of the couch with two curved lines. Then, draw another diagonal line from the vanishing point.

This time, it will become the top of a door. Use straight lines to outline its sides and a rectangle inside it. Use an oval for the doorknob.

6. Erase the guide lines from the door. Draw two more diagonal lines from the vanishing point to form the top and bottom of a picture frame.

Use straight lines to enclose the rectangle shapes of the frame and picture. Then, draw an oval within an oval beside it to form a clock.

Drawing Step 7

7. Erase the guide lines from the picture frame and the back wall. Detail the clock with an oval and two hands.

Learn More About The Easy Hallway in One Point Perspective Drawing

You've probably used one-point perspective to draw a city street, but did you know you can take it indoors as well? We'll guide you through an easy hallway in one-point perspective drawing.

Often, rooms are too small to get a sense of the perspective. But long hallways like this one are different.

If you can see far enough down the hall, you'll notice that doors and other objects appear smaller in the distance.

If your pencil is sharp enough (and if you have a magnifying glass!) you could draw another open doorway on the far wall.
