How to Draw a Great Looking Birch Trees for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Draw a line of grass with loose, uneven triangles near the bottom of the page.
Starting at the top, sketch four curved lines that touch the grass, making the first trunk overlap the second. Attach a round triangular shape to the left trunk.

2. Add a V-shape inside the right tree, then draw two more patches of grass. Start the first trunk by drawing two curves, making one touch the top of the page.
Outline the other with two curves, and sketch a small finger-like branch. Use three diagonal curves to draw a branch attached to the birch tree.

3. Draw more branches with long, narrow triangles, and complete the trunk on the third tree. Add curved lines to the first tree, then enclose some of the curves with teardrop shapes.

4. Sketch another branch on the fourth tree, then repeat the earlier step to give the trees more leaves. Draw them in small clusters.

5. Add more leaves facing in different angles.

6. Draw thick dashes inside the trunks to give the bark texture. Add squiggly lines above the grass.

7. Sketch more thick dashes inside the trunks like tiger stripes. Near the fourth tree, draw another tuft of grass with sketchy triangles.

Finally, color the dashes and bottoms of the trunks in dark grey, leaving the rest of the trees white. Use pale grey for the shadows. Make the sky blue, and color the grass, leaves and shrubs in varying shades of green.
