Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing Doctor Octopus

How to Draw a Great Looking Doctor Octopus for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the Doctor Octopus outline by drawing the villain’s head. Use curved lines to draw the sunglasses and sketch the forehead, ears, cheeks, chin, nose, and mouth around them.
Drawing Step 2

2. Detail the face with short curved lines - the eyebrows, the insides of the ears, and the wrinkles around the mouth.
Extend short lines below the head for the neck, then use longer curved lines to create the curved rectangular neck of his garment. Extend curved lines on each side, forming the man’s shoulders.

Drawing Step 3

3. Use curved lines to enclose the armor on his chest and shoulders, his upper arm, gauntlet, and fisted hand. Extend two curved lines below the chest armor to form the sides of the torso.
Drawing Step 4

4. Use a series of curved lines to draw the remaining arm and gloved hand. Detail both arms and hands, using curved lines to contour the muscles, band the gauntlets, and form the fingers.
Drawing Step 5

5. Draw a curved rectangle like a belt at the bottom of the torso. Use long curved lines to trace the sides of the legs, and shorter lines to detail the costume’s briefs.
Drawing Step 6

6. Use curved lines to contour the muscles of Doc Ock’s legs. Then, extend four sets of parallel curved lines—two from the shoulders and two from just below the arms.
Begin sketching the claw at the end of one of the mechanical arms. Draw a circle just past the lines, then use straight lines to make bent rectangular shapes around it.
Drawing Step 7

7. Draw straight lines across the tines of the claw, indicating their bends. Then draw the remaining claws, erasing as necessary.
Again, draw an oval at the end of each arm and use straight lines for the geometric tines. Draw a straight line across the bend in each tine.

8. Continue to detail the claws. Shade a small circle in the middle of each, then draw three small trapezoids around them.
Next, use curved lines to detail the armor around the neck and below the chest plates in a pattern that resembles abdominal muscles.

9. Band the mechanical arms with curved lines. Draw curved lines across the sides of the torso. Texture the hair with short lines.
