How to Draw a Great Looking Camellia for Kids and Beginners - Step 1
1. Begin the camellia outline by drawing the petals that encircle the flower’s center. Use curved lines to create the crescent-shaped petals. Then, draw a series of connected ‘U” shaped lines between them.

2. Using curved lines, enclose the irregular and half-circle-shaped petals.

3. Continue to draw overlapping round petals. Notice how many of the petals have gentle points. Contour the petals with curved lines, giving them depth and dimension.

4. Draw more petals, some rounded, some lobed, and some gently pointed. Draw gentle “V” shaped lines at the tips of some of the petals.

5. Use curved lines to draw more overlapping, rounded petals.

6. Draw a few more overlapping petals, completing the round shape of the flower. Extend two long curved lines below the flower, forming the stem. Extend two sets of short, curved lines from one side of the stem.
Allow each set to meet at a point. From one of these twigs, extend a long curved line. This is the top of the leaf. Draw the serrated bottom of the leaf using a series of short, connected, curved lines.

7. Draw a second leaf. Use long curved lines and a series of short, serrated lines.
Then, draw a curved line down the center of each to form the leaf veins. Extend auxiliary veins on each side of the central vein.

8. Extend two short lines from the opposite side of the stem, allowing them to meet at a point.
From there, extend a long curved line to form the leaf vein. Enclose the serrated leaf around it, using a series of short lines.

9. Extend curved lines from the leaf vein. Draw a final serrated leaf partially hidden by the flower, and contour it with curved lines for the veins.
Color Your Camellia Drawing
