1. Begin the cartoon bed outline by drawing the bedpost. Start with a small circle. Then, extend straight, parallel lines below it. Connect them at the bottom with a “V” shaped line.

2. Draw another straight line across the post, giving it a three-dimensional appearance. Then, enclose the arched shape of the foot of the bed. Use a long straight line for the bottom of the shape and a shorter straight line for the side. Connect it to the bedpost using a long curved line.

3. Draw a long curved line across the foot of the bed, parallel to its top. Then, draw a bedpost on the opposite side. Enclose a rectangle shape for the post with a circle on top.

4. Draw another bedpost at the front of the bed. Again, start with a small circle. Then, extend straight, parallel lines below it. Connect them at the bottom with a “V” shaped line.

5. Draw a straight line up the center of the post. Then, draw the mattress and blanket. Start with an “L” shaped line between the foot of the bed and the third post. Then, use a series of straight lines to enclose the blanket.

6. Draw another “L” shaped line across the blanket, indicating that the top of it has been turned down. Draw a straight line between the blanket and the bedpost. Then, draw a straight line upward from the far corner, and connect it to the third post with a curved, arched line.

7. Draw the fourth and final bedpost. Enclose the circle of the knob and the rectangle of the post. Give the mattress a three-dimensional appearance by drawing a series of straight lines through each section of the blanket and sheet.
