1. Begin the chimpanzee outline by drawing the animal's face. Enclose half-circles for the eyes, and shade round pupils inside each.
Use curved lines for the eyelids, sides of the nose, and side of the upper lip. Shade two teardrop-shaped nostrils between the lines of the nose.

2. Outline the chimp's face with curved lines above and beside the eyes, forming the mouth, and contouring below it. Detail the nose and side of the face with short lines.

3. Use a series of curved lines that meet at jagged points to draw the fur around the chimp's face and chin.
