Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Cute, Easy Bird

How to Draw a Great Looking Cute, Easy Bird for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the cute, easy bird outline by drawing a long curved line like the letter “C.” This outlines both the bird’s head and body.
Then, draw the eyes. For each eye, enclose a partial oval above a curved line. Then, draw the bird’s beak. Use a “U” shaped line for each section of the beak.
Drawing Step 2

2. At the bottom of the character, draw two “V” shaped lines. These are the tops of the bird’s legs.
At the top, draw two connected, curved lines - a tuft of feathers on top of the head. Halfway between the two, draw the bird’s wing.
Use a long curved line for the front of the wing and three “U” shaped lines for the trailing edge. Use curved lines to enclose the head and body, leaving room for the tail.

Drawing Step 3

3. Draw the tail in the open spot. Use two curved lines that meet at a point for the largest feathers, and “U” shaped lines for the two smaller feathers.
Draw the remaining wing - a curved line for the top and “U” shaped lines for the bottom of it.
Use thick lines to sketch the three-toed feet at the bottoms of the “V” shaped legs. Draw a series of scalloped lines at the base of the head.
Drawing Step 4

4. Texture more feathers on the bird’s belly using curved lines. Use long curved lines to draw the “Y” shaped branch of a tree.
Drawing Step 5

5. Draw another branch, using curved lines that meet at a point. Notice the bulging tree knot at the bottom of the branch.
Then, draw a leaf at the tip of one of the twigs. Use a curved line for the stem and vein and two more for the outline of the leaf.
Drawing Step 6

6. Draw more leaves. For each, use a curved line for the stem, with two curved lines that meet at sharp points outlining the edges of the leaf.
Drawing Step 7

7. Draw more leaves. Again, use a curved line for the stem, with two curved lines that meet at sharp points outlining the edges of the leaf.
